During the past week, I have enjoyed watching the Latino Americans, a six-part documentary about the 500-year history of Latin Americans in North America. The series is based on the companion book Latino Americans: The 500 Year Legacy That Shaped A Nation written by Ray Suarez of the PBS NewsHour.
The website for the documentary includes a timeline, video clips and an education section with ideas and resources for integrating Latino American history, culture and achievements into the curriculum. There is also a section called Mi Historia where viewers can submit their own video stories about their Latino American identity and heritage, traditions, and role models.
